The Z-Vibe is a vibratory oral motor tool that can help build oral tone and improve a variety of speech, feeding, and sensory skills. Use it to provide a varied sensory experience and/or to provide targeted tactile cues within the oral cavity. Its gentle vibration provides a new level of sensory stimulation to increase oral focus and draw more attention to the lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw. Vibration can also be very calming, soothing, and organizing. The Z-Vibe’s sleek, innovative design features a lightweight, textured plastic handpiece. The texture around the handle provides a slip-proof grip, and it can also be brushed along the cheeks, arms, hands, etc. for additional tactile input. The handle comes with a blue Probe Tip on one end and a Switch Tip on the other. Use the Probe Tip for oral motor assessment and development. This end of the handle is sealed off from the internal components so that no saliva, water, or moisture can compromise the unit from that end. To turn the unit on, simply twist the Switch Tip at the opposite end of the handle just until the unit starts to vibrate (please do not over-tighten!). This end of the handle is open so that you can easily replace the battery when necessary. The unit comes with a special Vibe Battery that is not available in stores. Please note: this therapeutic tool is NOT a toy. Contains small parts and must be supervised at all times.

Good for feeding problems. Makes for a good toy during meals. I’m an occupational therapist and I mostly use this to help kids with feeding problems. The vibration helps provide more stimulation for kids who don’t have as much oral awareness I’ve had babies who enjoyed this using this z-vibe; I also used this 11 year-old and he liked it to. Sometimes it takes a few times to introduce it slowly to them, but generally I get positive feedback with it.Pros:Versatile – It’s simple in design but versatile; you can use it to play to stimulate their hands with vibration, apply it extraorally on their lips, nose, cheeks, etc., and of course dip it in food to encourage oral motor play.Design – I like that this model has made some improvements such as making the handle a more child-friendly textured plastic, as some similar ones were made with a metal handle that wasn’t good for chewing on. The textured rubber brush at the end is durable and holds up when it gets chewed on by kids with teeth.Maintenance – It’s…

This is expensive for the quality. I think getting … This is expensive for the quality. I think getting a $5 toothbrush that battery operates would stimulate the oral just as well.

Great for feeding therapy Helpful for the feeding therapy we are doing at home. The battery twist end seems to not always work the first time. I have to twist it and then turn it back again to get it to start working. Only reason for 4 stars. We use it almost everyday for a short time before we start eating. We haven’t had it for too long (just over a month). It’s a really great tool though and I recommend it! The option for additional attachments is a plus too.
