ARK’s Grabber is an innovative oral motor chew tool that’s very tough, but still chewable. It’s the longest lasting Grabber for avid chewing. The textured surface (bumps and nubs) is especially great for sensory seekers. Made in the USA, medical grade, FDA compliant, CE Approved, and lead/phthalates/PVC/BPA/latex-FREE.

Caution: This product is not a toy. Although these chew tools are sturdy and durable, no chew tool is indestructible. Some individuals (particularly those with heavy oral needs and aggressive biting/chewing) may be able to damage the tools – how long they last depends on the sensory needs of the individual as well as other variables (stress/anxiety levels in their life, their jaw strength, if a sensory diet / other calming strategies are in place, etc). Please supervise at all times and replace if necessary when the item shows signs of wear and tear. For the toughest chew tool that lasts the longest for avid chewers, search for ARK’s Y-Chew XXT.

Product Features

  • The toughest Grabber yet! XXT stands for “Xtra Xtra Tough” – it’s very firm, yet still chewable. No chew tool is indestructible, but this one is very firm.

  • Built-in handle for an easy grasp and a long extension to reach the back molar areas where we do most of our chewing
  • Safe alternative to biting on hands, knuckles, shirts, etc.
  • Made in South Carolina, USA by ARK Therapeutic

Great product but Xtra Xtra Tough is right! ARK’s Textured Grabber XXT is a nice chew stick though it didn’t work out for my son. It’s Xtra Xtra tough and they aren’t lying. I bought it for my 9 year old who chews everything. It was too tough for him. It hurts his teeth so he won’t chew it. My son chews his shirts, blankets, pencils, and stuff like that. This toy was too stiff. I thought the Xtra Xtra would be just right but was mistaken. Only buy this for someone that is a very intense chewer. The handle and stick are nice because it’s easy to hold and the stick part fits right into the mouth. The nubs weren’t necessarily helpful for my 9 year old but a teething baby or a sensory child may find them useful. I like the product so much I bought a less tough one for my other son and I’ll buy another to replace this one for my 9 year old.

The Texture Is Wrong for MY Child I like the item. It has different textures. It is a good size for holding. I do have a problem with it, though. My autistic child likes the look, but is not using it. He has a need to lick and bite things (apparently, a sensory issue). We mentioned this to an OT and she said that it may be he needs a smooth one. After thinking about it we realized that what he licks and bites (floors, windows, …) normally have a smooth surface. I have since purchased a similar item that is smooth. It is working out much better. If you are considering this for your child, think about whether they will need something with a bumpy texture or a smooth texture.

so that’s pretty darn good This is the 2nd one I have purchased for my special needs 7yr old son. The first lasted about 9 mths before he managed to chew through it. For reference, my son has gnawed dips into wood and dented plastic, so that’s pretty darn good. Have repurchased, and will continue to repurchase.
