Our test is comprehensive and looks for mutations in 98 genes and 25 hereditary cancers. Other tests offer fewer genes for fewer cancer types and will miss mutations that confer risk for cancer. Why get tested? Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk assessment can help with early cancer detection. Gene mutations are abnormalities in the DNA that can increase cancer risk by 20 times. Such genetic mutation associated with increased cancer risk is passed down from parents to children. Individuals who inherit mutated genes have a greater risk of getting cancer and get cancers earlier in life. Additionally, their cancer is usually more aggressive. Some of the most widely followed mutation genes are BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are known to increase the risk of breast and ovarian cancers, as well as prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and male breast cancer. A definite good choice – one more tool I am SO HAPPY with the entire process. The kit arrived within 2 days of purchase. I decided to do the test after a breast biopsy suggested a lumpectomy was in order. With my mom, 2 aunts, grandmother as well as a few cousins having had breast cancer, I am considered high risk. Instructions were easy, spit it in and send it back with priority shipping which was included in the price (which was a 1/3 the price as the test my doctor offered). The results came back within 3 weeks…

Great Customer experience and you DO NOT need a physicians signature I originally thought a Doctors signature was required but realized it is not. I am submitting my sample today and will update when I get the results. I am very pleased with their customer service and feel that they are legit. This is the third test of this nature that I’ve taken. The first was a very expensive test done at a lab. The second (which contradicted the first) was based on my Ancestry sample. This test confirmed the lab’s results.
